The exchange of students has begun in Albacete, with the arrival of 24 students from both countries that are received by as many students of 4th of ESO and 1st of Baccalaureate of IES Tomás Navarro Tomás, integrated into the bilingual project of the center. The objective is to interrelate students and teachers from different countries in a common project, which seeks to strengthen the features that unite us to all Europeans, overcoming localisms and nationalisms.

From the 13th to the 19th of this month of January, various activities have been developed, including: preparatory presentations of trips to Guardamar del Segura and Alicante, to learn about the variety and influences of Mediterranean civilizations, as well as the precariousness and the need to value and take care of very fragile and valuable ecosystems, and, to Belmonte, El Toboso and Campo de Criptana, to know the cultural complexity of La Mancha, following part of the Don Quijote route. Apart from the presentations on these routes made by the students, video editing works have also been carried out from Almodóvar movie sequences, different plastic works, theatrical performances, chemical practices to know the status of the Segura River from its head to its mouth Six professors of the Institute of English, Geography and History, Biology, Physics and Chemistry and Plastic subjects are involved in this project. Visits have also been made to different areas of the city of Albacete, such as the Faculty of Law, the collection of international ceramics of the Municipal Museum, the cathedral ... This intense week has ended on Saturday 19 with some evaluation and assimilation practices of the contents developed and with a lunch based on typical tapas prepared by the families that host these students.

Subsequently, in the month of May, 12 students of 1st year of high school will travel to Antwerp for a week and then, in October, 12 students of 4th year of ESO to Ahrweiler.

It is a project that has been preparing for over a year with previous meetings of teachers in Albacete and in the German city of Ahrweiler, hoping that it will be a truly enriching experience for students and teachers, and that it will contribute to strengthening European ties.
