Trip to London

Within the activities scheduled in the Bilingual English Project of the IES Tomás Navarro Tomás, from May 18 to 22, we visited London with a group of 26 students, accompanied by two professors. In order to know the city and enhance the possibilities of practicing English, there have been several guided tours of the most significant spaces and museums in the city, accompanied by an English guide, and has attended English classes at the academy UK College. The first day, after staying in a hostel in the Soho neighborhood, we visited the Picadilly area, to have a first contact with such a cosmopolitan city.


On the second day, in the morning we went by subway to the lively market of Camden Town, full of shops of all kinds, with a very festive atmosphere, typical of a Sunday morning. In the afternoon we visited the Museum of Natural History, where the students realized an activity of discovery of different pieces of the museum.



On the third day, in the morning, we attended English classes at UK College, located very close to the hostel, in Oxford Street. In the afternoon, accompanied by an excellent English guide, we made a tour of Trafalgar Squere, with detailed explanations of the figure of Nelson who presides over the imposing square and continue through Whitehall, passing through 10 Downing Street, residence of the Prime Minister, until Get to Parliament and Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Green Park. We conclude the tour in the busy shopping area of ​​Oxford Street.




The fourth day followed the classes in the morning and in the afternoon we took a guided tour through the same guide, with explanations in English, in the area of ​​the Tower of London, walking along the Thames to reach the business area of ​​the city . Then we visited the British Museum where he carried out an activity of discovery of the most important archaeological pieces. At night we went to the area of ​​the London Eye, to contemplate the views of the illuminated city.




 And the last day, after the morning classes we returned to Albacete.



This trip has allowed a first contact with a city as fascinating as London, practice English and have fun with friends and colleagues.
